Honing tube is a high-precision pipe material processed through honing technology, and its inner wall surface is subjected to reciprocating rotational friction of a special honing tool (including abrasive honing strip) to achieve micrometer level precision surface treatment.

Processing principle: The abrasive particles on the honing bar perform micro cutting on the pipe wall with extremely low pressure, removing only a few micrometers of material thickness each time. At the same time, the abrasive particles generate frictional heat during cutting, causing plastic deformation at the micro protrusions on the metal surface, filling the depressions, and forming a smooth surface. The rotation and reciprocating motion of the honing tool form a cross mesh cutting trajectory, ensuring uniform surface patterns.

Process steps for honing tube processing

Preparation: Prepare high-precision honing machines and other equipment, as well as honing heads, oilstones, and other tools. Select suitable materials, such as seamless steel pipes of 20 #, 16Mn, 45 #, etc., and pre treat the materials to remove impurities such as oil stains and rust on the surface.

Honing process: firmly install the honing tube on the honing machine worktable, start the honing machine, the honing head rotates and performs reciprocating motion, and the oilstone is pressed against the inner wall of the honing tube under the action of the expansion mechanism, cutting the small protrusions on the inner wall surface. During the process, strictly control the speed of the honing head, reciprocating speed, oilstone pressure and other parameters.

Closing and inspection: After the honing process is completed, high-pressure gas blowing, cleaning, and other methods are used to remove residual debris and honing fluid inside the tube. Use professional measuring tools such as internal micrometers and roughness meters to accurately measure the dimensional accuracy and surface roughness of honing pipes. For high-precision oil cylinder pipes, more detailed inspections such as roundness and cylindricity are also required.
